The Mothman Prophecies, starred Richard Gere, Debra Messing, and Laura Linney headed up the cast that tales a story based on the collapse of "The Silver Bridge." The film came out circa 2004.
It also featured Will Patton as the paranoid resident who started communicating with this strange entitiy name, of all things, Ingrid. In fact, I must say that I was disappointed with this portrayal overall.
It could have been such a good movie. Take that from someone who has spoken first-hand with eyewitnesses of this tragic event. The stories of strange sitings and mysterious people the sequence of strange events that were reported to happen just across the river in West Virginia from where Kris grew up that preceded the tragedy.
My family still lives in the area and I have many good friends that I miss very much.

I find that it is easier for me to tell other I was born in sout east Ohio, or prepare to repeat Gallipolis two to three times before the inquirer gets the pronunciation. The story of the French 500 settling there and bring Gallipolis into existence in 1790 can be found as you cross into the city limits. Apparently, the real story was that these 500 French settler were taken. The land has several inlets from the mighty Ohio River making the area subject to flooding and swamps.
In recent years, I have noticed very rapid growth by an unusually large population of wealthy and upper-middle class sub-divisions have sprung up where empty fields were used to harvest hay.
In my old neighborhood, I was very fortunate that my parents owned what most would consider to be the biggest and nicest house in an area where many of the popular students lived. It was an easy matter for me to be popular when I grew up from early elementary school with the kids who grew into that special high school niche.
We just went back there in August. My mother, two sisters. and extended family are still residing in that area. My father passed away in 1999. This is the first time that I took my family across the new Silver Bridge over to Point Pleasant, Wv. where the story of "The Mothman Prophecies" is set.
A series of stramge evemts were reported and many people had made official statements of having seen a large, winged creature. There were also reports of men wearing black coats would show up late at night at people's homes, asking the most peculiar and unrelated questions.
I think the movie failed it's potential.
If one steps out to the riverfront there is the one and only Mothman Propjecies Museum and a grand scale murial, pain stakingly illustrating the battle of Chief Cornstalk. It is told in lore that after the white man broke their treaty a 3rd time, they began attacking forts.
This drew the military into the region and cornered Chief Cornstalk at the point where the Kanawah River pours into the Ohio RIver. Before taking his own life, he cursed the area...
Kris has pondered much over why they did not make a connection and add a whole new dynamic to a movie that desperately needed another dynamic.
Follow Me, I Know the Way to Happiness
Let me start with.
an introduction. I plan to tell you what you can expect under this title. I am a genuinely happy person. I had an experience, or Epiphany(my only title that is written as both fiction and nonfiction.
At around two AM on the 8th day into May of 2004, something happened to me that I cannot explain and, despite my curious nature, I am okay with not knowing. It has some explanation that I am certain would be intriguing. That elicited my ambition to make it a cinematic event that parallels the biblical account of King Solomon.
